Singer Chris Brown cancelled a New Year’s Eve countdown concert in Manila, Philippines at the last minute, claiming it was “due to unfortunate circumstances.” Organizers also said that Chris Brown was a no-show at the concert, which was held at the Philippine Arena, currently considered as the world’s largest indoor arena, reportedly because of a “lost passport.”
However, reports now state that Chris Brown may have cancelled his appearance hours before the show because of his girlfriend, model Karrueche Tran. The on-off couple are reportedly back together and Brown wanted to prove to her that she was more important than his career.
Organizers released this official statement:
“Due to unforseen circumstances out of the control of MDC (MDC is the corporate entity which administers and manages Ciudad de Victoria, where the Philippine Arena is located. MDC produced the New Year’s event. Pinnacle live is the local agency in charge of bringing in the artist) Chris Brown will not be able to attend this year’s NYE celebration. It is with heavy heart that he is unable to attend and he has tried his physical best to fly over for the evening. We are currently in communication with the venue and exploring options to address this cancellation. Pinnacle Live, as a consultant in this event, apologizes for this setback and this non-appearance no way reflects the management and operations of MDC. MDC has no fault on this matter. We hope to amicably come to terms on how we proceed next.”
