An unexpected shipment was delivered to a pet store in Philadelphia on Tuesday, prompting the owner to immediately take action and find a solution.

According to reports, pet shop owner Mark Arabia discovered that they got a shipment containing a dead human body instead of their usual stock of tropical fish and salt water. He said they usually receive the items by air cargo that’s why it did not occur to him that he’ll encounter something unusual.

Arabia owns the Pets Plus store located in northeastern part of Philadelphia. He said that he was informed that the body was of a 65-year old man who lived in San Diego, California who died of Alzheimer’s Disease. The body was supposed to have been sent to a laboratory in Allentown for medical research.

A tradition of exchanging birthday cards between two brothers turned out to be really cost-effective through the years.

According to reports, brothers Darryl and Dan Culberson of Colorado have been exchanging the same birthday greeting card every year since 1973, a tradition that has become very special.

Basically, it started when Darryl (62) sent his older brother a birthday card with the caption “The Phantom Cheapo strikes again!” in 1973. Not to be outdone, the Dan (68) decided to resend the card to his younger brother when it was his birthday with additional notes on the card. Since then, the card has been written on and sent to one another.

A former company bookkeeper allegedly embezzled nearly $10 million to buy luxury items. This resulted to the company cutting down its workforce.

Californian authorities said that 51-year old Annette Yeomans surrendered at Vista, California last Friday and was booked for investigation of embezzlement and grand theft. She’s being held in lieu of $10 million bail.

Yeomans served as the chief financial officer of furniture company Quality Woodworks, Inc. based in San Marcos, California from 2001 to 2007. Authorities revealed that during this period, Yeomans spent more than $250,000 on 400 pairs of shoes, more than 150 purses that are valued at $2,000 each and more than $300,000 on designer clothes.

A would-be robber from West Virginia made a crucial mistake of purchasing a softdrink using his debit card which led to his arrest a few hours later.

According to reports, 33-year old Shawn Thomas Lester told the convenience store clerk that he had a gun and wanted all the money in the register given to him. However, the transaction did not materialize after another customer walked in the store. The store clerk asked the suspect to pay for the soft drink.

Lester then gave his debit card to the clerk, signed “John Doe” on the receipt and left the store without any cash.

A Florida woman reportedly called 911 three times after finding out that a fastfood giant’s trademark product is out of stock.

Authorities said that McDonald’s employees informed 27-year old Latreasa Goodman that they run out of McNuggets. Goodman, a resident of Fort Pierce, informed the authorities that she already paid for a ten-piece package last week yet she was informed that no stock is available.

Goodman also said that when she asked for a refund, the employee told her that the sale was final and that it could not be refunded. The staff went on to offer a different product for the same price but the woman refused.

The authorities said that Goodman was cited for misusing the 911 service.
