The thousands of spectators in Rio de Janeiro were treated with a view of sexy samba dancers in a carnival parade that took place in the city on Monday morning. To top everything off, a samba dancer broke a carnival record of having the smallest piece of clothing worn in the event.

According to local media reports, model Dani Sperle only wore a three-centimeter long (or 1.2-inch) patch of cloth in the event. She was able to accessorize with a eye-catching silver headdress, matching arm bands and a necklace. However, her body was barely covered.

This is certainly an award you wouldn’t want to get. However, having a Razzie Awards can still be a publicity opportunity.

Last weekend, the Golden Raspberry Awards (or Razzie Awards), took place and it was the night of flop flicks with high profile stars. Topping the awards with seven nominations was the flop film “The Love Guru” which took home the Worst Picture and Worst Screenplay award plus the “coveted” Worst Actor award to Mike Myers.

A woman from La Grande, Oregon finally got the invitation letter that was sent by her nephew from New Jersey for his high school graduation. However, here’s the catch – the invitation was for a high school graduation dated 1987.

The recipient, Theresa Scholossarek, discovered the invitation when she checked her mailbox last week. The envelope was postmarked June 2, 1987 and had been opened. It came from Toms River, New Jersey, where her brother, Hermann Ilnseher, currently resides.

The critical and commercial success of the film “Slumdog Millionaire” led to more tourists going to the slum areas of Mumbai, India and seeing first-hand the situation of the people living there.

The movie, which is nominated for ten Oscars including Best Picture, tackles a poor orphan’s success on India’s version of “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire.” The actors themselves live in slum areas in Mumbai.

The residents of Dharavi, one of the poorest and most populated slum neighborhoods, noticed an increase of visitors from other countries – averaging ten to twenty tourists a day on guided tours.

The authorities at Chattanooga, Tennessee are currently investigating a case involving a gospel singer’s wife who attempted to set the Harmony Baptist Church on fire.

The name of the woman has not been released. Court records revealed that the woman was already charged on Wednesday with attempted arson. Fire officials said that no significant damage was reported since they were able to respond immediately to the automated alarm that was set up at the church.
