The funeral of reality TV star Jade Goody still got comprehensive media coverage, somewhat the same attention that was given to her while she was still alive.
Goody died of cervical cancer on March 22 at the young age of 27. Prior to her death, she married fiancé Jack Tweed which was a media event.
Scores of fans and journalists were present at London’s St. John the Baptist Church on Saturday. Large TV screens were installed to provide better coverage of the events. The reality star’s publicist pointed out that Goody would have wanted the funeral to be this way.
“She will have a big smile on her face when she sees what is going on today,” Max Clifford said.
“In life she loved being loved and it is pretty clear that this is the overwhelming feeling today,” he added.
Goody got international attention during her stint at the “Celebrity Big Brother” in U.K. after her constant altercation with fellow contestants. She won over the public following her brave fight with cervical cancer which was discovered to be terminal late last year.
