zac_efron“High School Musical” star Zac Efron is reportedly no longer part of the “Footloose” remake. This was confirmed by Paramount Pictures, the producer behind the film.

The film studio did not provide any information behind this decision. However, director Kenny Ortega and producers Neil Meron and Craig Zadan are still part of the film project.
The 21-year old actor rose to stardom via the Disney original film franchise. He was part of the star-studded film “Hairspray” in 2007. He’s the top choice for the remake of 1984 film “Footloose.” There are still no confirmation on the studio who will take his place in the role.

Efron fans will get to see their idol once again this April via the movie “17 Again,” a story of a middle-aged man who wakes up to his younger self. The movie is slated for release on April 17.
