Michael JacksonThe ticket-buying frenzy has started for the comeback concert series of “King of Pop” Michael Jackson in London. The phenomenal response from the public has prompted the concert promoters to increase the concert dates from 10 to 50 which means that Jackson will be performing from July 8 until February of next year.

The 50-year old entertainer, a 13-time Grammy Award winner, announced last week that he has committed 10 shows at the O2 Arena in London – stating that this will be his last concert series. However, the fans welcomed this development with gusto thus the decision to add extra shows. An estimated one million people will get the chance to see Jackson perform live.

On Wednesday, a lot of people were unable to purchase tickets at the www.michaeljacksonlive.com website due to technical glitches. This led to enterprising individuals to offer tickets in other sites such as eBay, selling by as much as $20,000. The official price of the tickets ranges between fifty to seventy five British pounds.

Ticketmaster Managing Director Chris Edmonds said: “We have witnessed an unprecedented level of demand for the Michael Jackson concerts at the O2.”

“Unfortunately due to a technical issue, we were unable to facilitate all immediate ticket requests. Apologies to those fans who were unable to log on, but fans should keep on trying to purchase tickets,” he added.

Jackson has sold more than 700 million albums worldwide and despite the negative reports about him the past few years, his legion of fans remained loyal to him.
