A tradition of exchanging birthday cards between two brothers turned out to be really cost-effective through the years.
According to reports, brothers Darryl and Dan Culberson of Colorado have been exchanging the same birthday greeting card every year since 1973, a tradition that has become very special.
Basically, it started when Darryl (62) sent his older brother a birthday card with the caption “The Phantom Cheapo strikes again!” in 1973. Not to be outdone, the Dan (68) decided to resend the card to his younger brother when it was his birthday with additional notes on the card. Since then, the card has been written on and sent to one another.
Darryl is living in Boulder while Darryl in March. The former sends the card to his brother in January while the latter sends the card back in March.
For the past 36 years, the card has turned yellow and filled with greetings from all over. One of the brothers joked that one has to give in and buy a new card.
