Hundreds of people gathered at the O2 Arena in London were the first ones to officially know that “King of Pop” Michael Jackson is making a major comeback in the concert scene later this year.
This announcement met screams of appreciation from the fans present as Jackson said that this will serve as his “final curtain call” in the British city.
The 50-year old multiplatinum artist wore a black jacket adorned with silver sequins, similar with what he usually wore during past concerts. He said that the 10-date concert tour will start on July 8 at the O2.
AEG Live, the promoter behind this rare event, said that the shows could go beyond the scheduled 10 dates if there’s a huge demand for tickets. Company CEO Randy Phillips said that the partnership with Jackson will last for almost four years and estimates that the popstar could gross more than $400 million within that period.
Phillips also dismissed rumors of Jackson’s declining health, stating that the artist underwent rigid physical examination with qualified doctors and passed with flying colors.
