The authorities at Chattanooga, Tennessee are currently investigating a case involving a gospel singer’s wife who attempted to set the Harmony Baptist Church on fire.

The name of the woman has not been released. Court records revealed that the woman was already charged on Wednesday with attempted arson. Fire officials said that no significant damage was reported since they were able to respond immediately to the automated alarm that was set up at the church.

The incident reportedly took place on February 11 where the woman’s husband performed at the church. The wife was allegedly upset with the pastor when the latter, who initially offered them overnight accommodations, asked if they were really married after noticing that the couple were not wearing wedding bands.

The woman maintained her innocence on the matter and is currently freed on bond.
