A Hindu organization is planning to make a new soft drink that’s made out of cow’s urine to compete against Western products.
India’s National Volunteer Corps, or Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), revealed that their beverage is currently undergoing lab tests and could run for a couple of months. The specific date of commercial release has not been announced yet.
RSS said that the liquid will be produced by revered holy cows and it will be mixed with products such as gooseberry and aloe vera to combat diseases such as cancer and diabetes.
According to Hindu beliefs, cow urine has medicinal properties. It is usually drunk during religious festivals. As for the softdrink, the makers haven’t decided yet on the name and price.
RSS has actively campaigned against foreign products in the past. This new drink is said to compete against major soft drink companies.
