rihannabrown1R&B singer Chris Brown said that he’s sorry for the controversy that took place following his arrest a week ago in connection with an investigation on domestic violence. His statement, released through publicist Michael Sitrick, was reported to the media on Sunday.

“Words cannot begin to express how sorry and saddened I am over what transpired. I am seeking the counseling of my pastor, my mother and other loved ones and I am committed, with God’s help, to emerging a better person,” the 19-year old artist said in a statement.

“Much of what has been speculated or reported on blogs and-or reported in the media is wrong,” he added.

Brown stressed that he had not posted any statements about the matter on social networking sites like Facebook, stating that they writings were made by frauds.

Media outlets reported that the complainant was none other than Brown’s rumored girlfriend, fellow singer Rihanna, who’s currently out of the public eye.

Both Rihanna and Brown cancelled their scheduled appearance at last week’s Grammy Awards. Gum maker Wrigley already announced last week that it’s suspending its ad campaign featuring Brown.
